Editorial

In this issue, the editorial deals with the matter of proximity in Islamic world and the Welcome gesture of Muslims to this call. A successful example of this movement is "the Dar al Taqrib" in Cairo. This organization is supported by all of the scholars of Sunni and Shi'i sects of the Islamic World. This organization has performed a series of unifying activities to eliminate the gaps between the Islamic sects of the religion, including the publication of a magazine titled "Resalat-al-Islam". In this issue of our magazine, a review of that magazine has been written for the readers.

 

Qura'nic Study

In This section, There are two articles. First, the fifth part of Qura'nic stories, by M.B.Hakim, Chief of the Council of Proximity Assembly. In our previous issues the discussions were about "The Characteristics of Qura'nic Stories and their Goals". In this issue, it deals with the Story of Moses (A.S) according to its historic chronology in which the story has been analyzed as pointed out in Qura'n. The second article is the first part of a study, titled "Abrahamic Words" by M.M. Asse'fi wherein the words that were presented to Prophet Abraham as the means of his trial are discussed.

This article in this issue is pressnted under the title of "Tafseer of Majma'al - Bayan,  a sample of approximating exegesis" by Mr. Vae'z-zadeh Khurassani, the Secretary General of the World Proximity Assembly of the Islamic Religions". This Tafseer has been published by Dar-al-Taqrib in Cairo, and re-published by "the World Proximity Assembly". Mr. Vaez'-Zadeh has written this article as an introduction to this reprint, wherein the characteristics of this tafseer and its approach to proximity has been discused.

The article of this issue of the above section is named "Proximity Among the Hierarchies of Reasonings in Ijtehad," by M.A.Taskhiri. The matter of arrangement and order of reasoning is a question that has been dealt with in this article.

 

supplementary article

In our previou issue, there were two letters between Mr. Vae'z-zadeh Khurassani and Mr. Abdol - Aziz Ben Baz, the Higher Mofti of S.Arabia. Mr. Hassan Ben Ali Saqaf has presented a discussion as a supplement to Ben Baz article in which the writer emphasized this point that all muslims have got a common idea concerning the matters of "Tawassol" and "Shafa'at".

Sepcial Artide

The special section of this issue is related to "Resalat - al - Islam Magazine" issued by "Dar-al-Taqrib" of Cairo so far sixty (60) issues of this magazin have been issued in the past 25 years and they contain some of the most important ideas of proximity in significant areas of Islamic thought and contemplation.

An imtroductionincluding the history of the establishment of "Dar-al- Taqrib" by Sheikh Mohammad Taqi Qomi, together with its goals and the concerned problems, as well as the story of the publication of the magazine is discussed here.

Also the first declarationof Dar-al-Taqrib and its reflections, including the declaration of Sheikh Abd-al-Majid Salim, the Chief of the Committee of Fatwa of al-Azhar and the Deputy of Jama'at -al- Taqrib and the reaction of Islamic World to it. This declaration has stated all goals of the Jama'at and its policy for the developement of the culture of Taqrib. It had a vast impact among the Muslim Scholars. Two of those reflections have been mentioned. One of them, an article by Sheikh M.H. Kashef -al-Qata'. from Najaf, the other, the article of Sheikh M.S.Hae'ri Mazandarani of Iran. In these two articles, the authors have approved the goals stated by Taqrib.

The Area of Ideology is the title of a series of articles in Resalat-al-Islam, which reflect the common beliefs of Muslims about the obligations of Islamic Idea, as well as the discrepancies caused by Ijtihad in the secondary issues of Islamic Ideology. In

this section, two articles by Sheikh M.J.Moqnieh, named "The Obligations of Religion in Shi'i School" and Sheikh Abd - al- Mota'al Sa'idi, titled "Taqrib among Islamic Religions and Monotheism", are printed.

Qura'nic area, is the best axle around which Muslims from different sects are gathered. The Qura'nic articles of Resalt-al-Islam clearly show this fact. In this area, an article by Sheikh M. Shaltute, The Sheikh of Azhar, is written as an introduction to the Tafseer of Majma' al - Bayan, wherein the Sheikh of Azhar has greatly admired the Shi'i mofasser(exeget).

Fiqhi Area . The Fiqhi discussions of Resalt - al - Islam indicates a unification of ideas among Shi'i and Sunni scholars in the major fields. only the matter of Ijtihad is prohibited by some Sunni Muslims. The two articles of this area are by Sheikh M.H. Kashef - al - Qata' (From Najaf) and Sheikh M. Mustafa Maraghi (of Egypt) which insist on the fact that the matter of Ijtihad should be discussed and its prohibition is against the principles of Islam.

The Area of Literature, here, too there are many common opinions among the Shi'i and Sunni Scholars. What is called Shi'i Literature is actually a literature that discusses about the aims of Islam and its ideals. The article of Sheikh Abd-al-Jawad Ramazan under the title of "Truthfulness (Sedg) and Emotions (A'atefeh) in Shi'i Poems" manifests this fact.

A Tour in Editorials, is a part of this special section which

reviews the sixty (60) editorials of Resalat - al - Islam, wherein the trend of Islamic issues of th Muslim world and the movemens of Taqrib activities had been pointed out.

Contents of the Articles of the Magazine from the lst to the 60th issue is also printed according to their subject - matters.

In this issue, a book by Mr. Zaki Milad, titled "The Role of Shi'i Scholars in Islamic Unity" has been reviewed. In this book the author has studied the works of past and contemporary shi'i scholars who  have played a cruicial role in the unity of Muslims.

Under the title of "The Reflections of the Tenth Conference of Islamic Unity" the Syrian newspaper, called "Teshri'n" in its 6889th issue has published an article by Dr. Abd-al-Karim Abd-al-S'amad and an interview with Sheik Ehsan Ba'drani of the participants in the Conference. These hare been introduced to our readers .
